How To Disassemble An HP Ink Printer Cartridge?
When electronics and their related accessories reach a point where they can no longer be used by a consumer, or a person no longer has a need for it, they have the ability to send the item to a recycler. A recycler will strip it for its parts and the parts will be disposed of in a manner that does not harm the environment. This helps keep toxic material out of landfills where they can leach into the soil and water table. One such computer printer component that can be disassembled for recycling or repair is the Ink Printer Cartridge. The computer company Hewlett Packard has a disassemble program for ink printer cartridges. As well, some people may want to disassemble their HP ink printer cartridge for repair.
The following is a guide on how to disassemble an HP Ink Printer Cartridge as outlined by Hewlett Packard in their guide on Product End-of-Life Disassembly:
1. Acquire a Torx screwdriver
2. Remove the cartridge from the printer.
3. Remove all the case parts of the cartridge
4. Remove the power supply, all carriages and unconnected harnesses that are free standing and not connected to anything.
5. Remove RIDS, ISS, SS
6. Remove the hanger, star wheel, ram drive, and support OP
7. Remove sensors, LF motor, pin linkage, feed roller, pick roller, and level and paper guides
8. Remove lever-bypass and lower paper guide
9. Remove the side wall left and side wall right
10. Remove P Lift and Kicker
When one sends a printer cartridge to be recycled, the ink cartridges, toner bottles, and drum units are broken up into small pieces so that they can be manufactured into other sorts of material. The cartridges are organized according to the plastic that they are composed of. Magnets are utilized to retrieve the metal out of the demolished components. All other components of the cartridges are forwarded to other recycling agencies so they can be separated and manufactured into other types of products. Printer cartridge components can be manufactured into many products such as steel products, industrial plastics, new cartridge toners, aluminum materials, and much more. As well, ink and toner are kept out of the landfills. If it was not for recycling, a lot of energy and pollution would be emitted which makes recycling ink printer cartridges very beneficial for the people, animals, communities, and the planet.
As we move towards a technology driven world, we have to implement initiatives to combat e-waste. When it comes to ink printer cartridges, companies such as Hewlett Packard are creating important programs to help protect the environment. As well, local governments and municipalities are implementing their own recycling programs. When you can no longer use your ink printer cartridge, be kind to the environment and do not throw it in the garbage. There many organizations that can take the cartridge and recycle it. When protecting and conserving our environment, we have to adapt to technological changes in order to make sure we have a green planet in the future. Recycling HP Ink Printer Cartridges is an easy way to create a sustainable environment.

How to get Printer Ink out of an old leather couch?
We have an older leather couch, older as in you can tell it’s been sat on a lot. I placed my printer on the couch and it left a black ink stain. I need to get it out before we give the couch back to my in-laws. It’s a tan brown idk if that’ll make a difference.
What you need is a graffiti remover…these are actually made to remove ink.
The only graffiti remover I can vouch for is Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover, since it is the only one I have ever used personally.
What did not work for me: Hair Spray, Rubbing Alcohol, Nail Polish Remover, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Hand Sanitizer, and even WD-40. But the Krud Kutter did work.
Spray Krud Kutter onto a clean rag and just wipe the ink right off. It’s that simple.
You can buy Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover at Target, Home Depot, and most hardware stores.
You can also buy it over the Internet:

6 Tips to Save on Your Printer Ink Cartridges
Buying a printer is a one time cost, but since printer ink cartridges need to be bought on a regular basis, the cost of operating the printer and maintaining it in proper condition can add up. Each ‘print’ command, however small, makes your printer use ink, but with some easy tips, you can actually save a lot of ink and use a cartridge for a longer period than usual.
1) Print only what is necessary
Let’s begin with economising. Most often, we end up making unnecessary printouts and in the process waste precious ink. For instance, you might need to print only a small portion of a web page instead of the whole page. Instead of simply printing the whole page, complete with its heavy graphics etc, be specific on what you want to have in hard copy and print only that portion.
Text always consumes less ink compared to graphics or images. If textual information is all that you need then you can make sure that you don’t print the graphics and images. If it is a web page you need to save in a printed form, check for its print version. If there is no print version, you can copy and paste the text in a word document and take a printout of that.
Also try to do a bit of planning and double check what you are printing before hitting the print button.
2) Go for a quick print preview
Most branded printers such as HP, Canon, Dell, Epson or any other printer come with a printer driver which has a very useful print preview function. With this function, you can have a prior preview of the copy you want to take a print out of.
This function is especially handy when you are directly taking the print out from the Internet. At times, what you see on a site is totally different as compared to the printed version. A quick preview can help to get the printout of the material that you specifically want.
3) Make sure the power is turned off
Just as you never switch off your computer without properly shutting it down, the same rule applies to your printer too. If you don’t shut down the printer properly, the print heads will remain directly exposed to air causing the ink to dry in the nozzles which, in turn, could affect the quality of printing adversely. Make it a habit to check the position of the print heads before cutting off the power.
4) Use good software
There are various ink saving software options available online. These software applications are designed to reduce the consumption of your printer ink. With these applications, you can get good quality printout copies with less ink consumption even during high resolution printing.
5) Use printer ink cartridges smartly
If you don’t do printing regularly, run a small printing test at least once a week, to avoid the ink cartridges from drying up. This little precaution will help you to increase the life of the cartridge.
6) Never expose your printer to extreme temperatures
Too much variation in room temperature is bad for printer ink cartridges. You must avoid keeping your printer in too hot or too cold a temperature as the cartridges can dry up. For lasting printer performance, make sure the room has a normal and stable temperature.
With these small but important tips, your printer ink cartridges will get a longer life. It is easy to buy good quality printer ink cartridges at excellent prices from online shops.

Reset HP expired printer ink
THIS IS FOR HP battery type of printers only. Even with a battery, some printers might not work. If this doesn’t work you may try disconnecting all the connectors on the circuit board for an hour or look for a software reset method. Even though I collect lots of HP printers as a hobby, I’m clueless about most of them.
This video is how to reset the ink on your HP printer. There’s no need to dissemble the printer to get to the battery. A long pair of tweezers to pull the CMOS battery out from its casing for a short time will work just fine. Some printers may not keep time by using the battery alone. Printer Ink Costs: HP vs Kodak
http://geeks.pirillo.com/ – My friend, Brian Eisenberg, came to the rescue. I was tasked with disputing Kodak’s claims on printer ink costs – and the results certainly speak for themselves. Thanks to my kind friends at HP for loaning us the equipment.

How can I get printer ink out of my denim shorts?
I didn’t know I had ink on the back of my shorts(received from leaning on a counter at a photo shop), so I don’t know if it is printer, pen or whatever else kid of ink there is out there. They have already gone through the washer & dryer. Is there any way to remove the stain. The shorts are beige. Any advice to get rid of it or make it so it is not so noticeable on my behind would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I use to work in a rubber stamp shop inking pads. got lots of ink off of my hands washing with common dish soap. Maybe could saturate the area with dish soap and let set for a bit and rewash in washer. do not dry until checking to see if it was removed.
Another thing I’ve used for set in stains with much success is oxyclean. Mixed oxyclean in bathroom sink as directed with hot water. pre-soak you shorts and then wash again as usual.
Did this with a cute little dress that was given to a freind for her little girl with lots of set in stains on bright colorful fabric. Came out beautifully.
Since you’ve already washed and dried could already be set in, but oxyclean might be your best bet for success.
Good luck!
How do you use a bottle of black printer refill ink and syringe?
I just bought an inkjet printer ink refill kit, which includes a bottle of black printer ink and a needle syringe. Reviews on the site said it was a good product; however, I have no idea how exactly to refill my spent cartridges. The cartridges I plan on refilling are the HP 60 model. Thanks!

What is a good printer to get that has cheap ink?
I bought a cheap printer and found out the damn ink is more expensive than a new printer. I want to get something that I can just print simple black and white stuff and not get robbed. What printer/ink should I get?
If I was cruel I would be laughing as there is no such thing as a printer that has cheap ink!
There are some that are a worst rip off than others but all ink is way too expensive.
Someone poster this the other day – it’s a cartoon that rings true for those of us who print.

Kodak seem to be the cheapest on ink but printers are swings and roundabouts.
Edit
If you print just black what about a little laser printer? These use toner not ink and the toner is supposed to last a long time.
The toner is expensive up front but is said to work out cheaper per page than ink, but again they are still a rip off.

Affordable Computer Printer Ink
The computer – once considered a luxury item – has easily become a staple in today’s modern homes; augmenting our businesses, making modern commerce a previously unheard of convenience, and putting informational and entertainment resources at our fingertips.
And along with the home computer comes its myriad of accompaniments – the modem, the speakers, the scanner, and the printer, to name a few. The printer, used virtually every time a school project, work assignment, or shopping receipt warrants it, is far and away one of the more utilized pieces of equipment. But when the ink runs dry, consumers are left with the promise of a high priced-replacement.
Computer printer ink can be one of the most expensive accoutrements for the modern computer. And, because of the regular need for replacement, it can be an expense that crops up more often than we’d like.
Replacing computer printer ink with a new cartridge available in most retail chains can be the most expensive option. Fortunately, there are a number of alternatives that can help keep the cost of your computer printer ink to a minimum.
First and foremost, look for generic ink cartridges in smaller supply stores. In many cases, the exorbitant prices you pay can be largely based on brand names. Just like anything else, it pays to shop around.
Additionally, rather than replacing the entire computer printer ink cartridge, consumers can instead just replace the ink. There are a variety of smaller, local stores that will replace the ink in your existing cartridge for a nominal fee. In this way, not only are you saving money, but you’re cutting down on waste in the environment.
Computer printer ink refilling kits are also available for those who feel comfortable enough refilling ink cartridges on their own. Ink cartridge refill kits are generally commercial in nature and can be found in large computer supply stores and even online.
Finally, conservation is your best way to increasing the economy of your computer printer ink. Use the minimal amount of ink to print each of your projects; print in draft form or in black and white for everything but your most important projects.
Your computer printer ink doesn’t have to be cost-prohibitive. Look for alternative solutions to ensure an efficient and cost-effective means for successful printing.
